Ensure the safe arrival of your parcel

You must pack the goods sufficiently well so that they will arrive at their destination undamaged. Strong cardboard, internal padding and strong adhesive tape provide good protection. Proper packaging helps protect the contents of your parcel during automatic sorting and transit. All that's left to do now is to put the correct address on the shipping label and your parcel is ready to be shipped. According to the GLS Terms and Conditions, a parcel may weigh up to 40 kg for distribution in Slovenia (up to 31.5 kg for distribution in the EU), while its combined length and circumference must not exceed three metres.

Size and weight

GLS sorts parcels at distribution centres using automated sorting systems. This enables parcels to be delivered quickly and cost-effectively. So that they can move smoothly along the conveyors, they must not exceed a certain size. The parcel must not exceed the following measurements:

• Length: 200 cm

• Width: 80 cm

• height: 60 cm

• • Total length and circumference: 300 cm

The combined length and circumference of the parcel must not exceed 3 metres. It is calculated as follows: 2 x height plus 2 x width plus 1 x longest side. Sending parcels within the European Union Senders who use the service occasionally can use GLS to send their parcels to most countries in the European Union. Parcels sent within the borders of one country are usually delivered the next working day. Shipments across Europe arrive at their destination within short standard delivery times.

Order parcel collection from your home

We are proud to offer the highest quality services. That's why we come to the sender's home to collect the parcel. All domestic parcels are delivered within 24 hours. Real-time tracking and insurance cover of up to EUR 200 for damage or loss of the parcel comes as standard. We inform the recipient that they can choose between flexible delivery options. You can redirect the parcel to a different address/date, to a GLS Parcel Locker or GLS Parcel Shop. The parcel may be sent with the option of cash on delivery – the amount charged to the recipient as payment for the contents of the parcel. This amount is then transferred to the sender's bank account. The extra charge for home collection of the parcel is EUR 3.00.

Cash on delivery

You can also send a parcel via posljipaket.si with the option of cash on delivery.

When sending a parcel, the sender may choose cash on delivery as the payment method. This option is particularly useful for people selling second-hand goods through classified ads, for example.

Shipping in this way allows both buyer and seller to reduce the risk of fraud or non-payment. The buyer is given the option to pay for the purchased goods on delivery instead of paying in advance. Payment is made to GLS and then GLS transfers the funds to the sender.

Cash on delivery is a convenient and affordable payment option for recipients, who can pay for and take delivery of their parcels at home or at various points of sale across the country – namely at GLS Parcel Lockers and GLS Parcel Shops.

You can also pay for the received parcel by credit card, either with the GLS courier, at a GLS Parcel Locker or at your nearest GLS Parcel Shop.

GLS cannot and shall not check the contents of any parcels sent. Postal item confidentiality also applies to GLS.

Shipping insurance

All parcels within the GLS system are insured against loss or damage.

GLS is responsible for any loss of or damage to parcels.

Liability does not include consequential losses, such as lost profits. If the sender does not take out transport insurance, GLS will, according to its legal liability, cover the value of the goods up to the legal limit of a maximum of EUR 200 per parcel. The value of the goods is determined as the purchase price, the current value for second-hand goods and the auction price for goods dispatched by auction, whichever is the lowest in each case.

The European Quality Management System, which ensures a high-quality and reliable service in parcel logistics, is the reason for the very low rate for damaged and lost parcels, standing at just 0.01%. Senders are obliged to notify GLS before dispatching parcels whose value exceeds EUR 2,000.

The sender is responsible for the proper packaging of the goods. If the parcel shows visible external damage, such as a hole in the box, you can refuse to accept the parcel. GLS will then return the parcel to the sender.

In case of visible damage to the parcel or the packaging on delivery, you may check the contents of the parcel. The courier shall record this in a report to be completed jointly with the recipient.

If you receive a parcel that looks undamaged, but when you open it you find that the contents are damaged, please make your complaint to the sender. GLS cannot and shall not check the contents of any parcels sent. Postal item confidentiality also applies to GLS.
